As per the provisions of NPE-1986, DIETs were established to organize pre-service and in-service courses for elementary school teachers and for the personnel working in non-formal and adult education. DIET Gurugram is a nodal institute at district level which was established in 1989 with the main objective of providing academic resource support for the qualitative improvement of elementary education system. DIET Gurugram is located in the campus of SCERT, Haryana, opposite Panchayat Bhawan.
